Until Death Do Us Part

Wedding Time

It’s interesting, isn’t it?  Every year there are couples that will stand before a group of people—Pastors, friends, family, etc.—and promise to love, honor, obey, and cherish each other come what may, until death, forsaking all others, and yet there are many in that same year who will decide to part ways.

We’re a culture that has it “our way”, and we hit the road at the first sign of trouble.

That’s one of the reasons that I’m very thankful for my wife.  Today will mark our 8th anniversary—it was eight years ago today that we pledged to love one another, and we meant it.

It hasn’t been easy, it hasn’t been all good news—but whether it’s been difficulties with kids, managing job loss, or the loss of loved ones we’ve been together through thick and thin.

And that’s what it’s all about—a promise that no matter what happens we’ll still be together.  It’s about our word.

I love you, Virtuous Blonde!

Congrats!! I’m so thankful for the relationship that my Dad and Mom have and the stability it has brought to our family. They’ve been married 28 years! Of course, it hasn’t always been bliss, but they are more in love now than ever. :)

Thanks anne, it’s not easy, it’s a lot of work– but love is a promise more than a feeling!

Well, it’s close to the anniversary of our engagement (Feb 6), but I originally wrote this on our real anniversary last year (July 7). Thanks!
