Oprah’s Church

Portrait of serious young woman. Fewer things are more powerful than celebrity.  Scientology uses this to its advantage, getting big names to perpetuate its cult.  That’s one of the reasons why Christians have started to protest Oprah Winfrey’s new religion by trying to spread the word about how what she is teaching through her television show is not something that Christians should follow.

Unfortunately, people tend to follow instead of lead, and many will be taken in by the new age proclamations made by this woman.  I don’t believe that she is malicious, but I do believe that she is encouraging something the Bible says to avoid– attempting to contact the spiritual realm, and to dabble where God says to avoid.

Well, I haven’t been commenting for a while and just don’t know what to make of this story about “Oprah’s Church”. Wish you could have posted both of the shows in full and not just the clips.
Oprah is has helped a lot of people, but I for one, think this time she’s off her mark.

Carol, you may actually want to check out Jennifer Bacak’s site. She and a friend are watching Oprah for a week to get a feel for where the show is. It’s actually quite interesting what they’ve found so far.

She’s definitely not a Christian– and yet many Christians follow her.
