So this is pretty wild. Vice President Mike Pence was meeting with some services members and a photo was taken of him with someone wearing a Q patch. And this put the MSM into a tizzy such that the photo was replaced by another one and the guy that was wearing it got demoted!

First, the photo:

Some in the media would have you believe that Gov. Sarah Palin has no idea the job duties of the position she is running for.  In order to highlight this supposed deficit, they focus on a satirical video that was taken quite a while ago, but when that didn’t work, they decided to focus on a recent question and answer session.

Q: Brandon Garcia wants to know, “What does the Vice President do?”

PALIN: That’s something that Piper would ask me! … [T]hey’re in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom. [Emphasis Original]

Why the Moderator Matters

It’s not a question of whether or not the person can be civil.  It’s not even a question of whether they can be fair.  The question is, what baggage do they enter with?

Two years ago this spring our church decided to close its Christian School.  It was a  difficult and complex decision, which ended up being decided primarily by money1.  When this tough subject came up, and we had a relatively new pastor, I was asked to be moderator.  But I had an opinion.

  1. Regardless of whether it should have been—it’s a moot point now. []

Moderator Bias?

October 1st, 2008 Viewed 2335 times

Nowgwentwo, what do you think the reaction would be if I told you that the moderator for Thursday night’s Vice Presidential debate was writing a book due for release that highlighted the rise of women to seats of power in America.  That she did a lot of research, and featured women from different sectors and discussed just how far women had come.  And that she includes a discussion of Gov. Sarah Palin, and her amazing transition from PTA mom to Vice Presidential nominee.

Going in to the debate this Thursday, could we expect her to be unbiased?

Is Gov. Sarah Palin Qualified to be Vice President?

Yesterday, CBS Radio news led off the top of the lunch hour with a statement about how Sen. McCain was going to be upset with his friend, Sen. Chuck Hagel, because he said that Gov. Palin was not qualified to be running for Vice President.

And I just shook my head.

According to the U.S. Constitution, Amendment XII, the qualifications for Vice President are the same as those for President:

But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.
