A Picture Is Worth Many Sentences

November 29th, 2018 Viewed 89 times, 1 so far today

Yesterday, President Trump retweeted a tweet from a follower:

This caused no small stir, as even Rod Rosenstein is in this picture. When asked about it, Trump stated that it was fine to include him because he chose Robert Muller to be special counsel.

What’s interesting is that Q seems to have picked up on it today with his latest missive:

The usual statement is that a picture is worth a thousand words, so it didn’t take much for people to infer that “many sentences” could mean that many people will be sentenced for crimes– something many Q watchers have believed would be coming for some time now.

Human Rights Council Sham

June 20th, 2018 Viewed 250 times

Much has been made about the U.S. leaving the Human Right’s Council. Last week, when President Trump met with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, many were upset that by him being present he normalized this radical leader. They said that he shouldn’t have met with him because of his terrible record with his people. These same people are now decrying leaving a group which has known human rights violators on the council and see no disconnect:

We have no doubt that there was once a noble vision for this council. But today, we need to be honest – the Human Rights Council is a poor defender of human rights.

Worse than that, the Human Rights Council has become an exercise in shameless hypocrisy – with many of the world’s worst human rights abuses going ignored, and some of the world’s most serious offenders sitting on the council itself.

The only thing worse than a council that does almost nothing to protect human rights is a council that covers for human rights abuses and is therefore an obstacle to progress and an impediment to change. The Human Rights Council enables abuses by absolving wrongdoers through silence and falsely condemning those who have committed no offense. A mere look around the world today demonstrates that the council has failed in its stated objectives.

Its membership includes authoritarian governments with unambiguous and abhorrent human rights records, such as China, Cuba, and Venezuela.

QAnon and The Omnibus Spending Package

March 26th, 2018 Viewed 648 times

In a recent post, I introduced the insider named “QAnon” taken from the Q anonymous writer on the 8chan boards. With Friday’s signing of the biggest spending bill of Trump’s presidency, one would believe that Q would show up, and he did.

On Friday, he published that he was updating his tripcode– a code assigned at login to help verify that the user is who they say they are, as all users on 8chan can post anonymously. Some have speculated that some rogue actors are close to discovering the old one, so Q has announced a new one. Another interesting side note here is that there have been a lot of fake Q postings on Twitter lately, something that enhances Q’s reputation, as many will call out these fakes fairly quickly.

Activists, Guns, Trump-Russia and Gates

February 23rd, 2018 Viewed 530 times

Quite the mixed bag today. First, I found this at the library last night while looking through children’s books:

I was looking for books for my kids, and I found this book, and as I started to flip through it I found that I was pretty shocked that there would be a book with socialist overtones geared toward kids in my library. Now, I also thought through the fact that some people have this same reaction when a Christian book geared toward children is also in the library (I had skimmed Bearenstein Bears’ and the Big Question earlier in the same trip). That didn’t make it any less shocking and I’m beginning to see that other competing ideas are now becoming more blatant in their placement– it’s becoming more real.

Mass Shootings, Russian Bots and Secret Hand Signals

February 22nd, 2018 Viewed 659 times

Lots of people talking about President Trump meeting with kids from the Florida school and CNN’s town hall. Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) took the time in her latest column telling us all about an amazing new breakthrough to reduce mass shootings… wait for it… Get rid of illegal immigrants.

There have been about 34 mass shootings since 2000. Forty-seven percent – 16 – were committed by first- and second-generation immigrants, i.e. people who never would have been here but for Teddy Kennedy’s 1965 immigration act.

She goes on to list the names of those that would not have been able to been able to have done a mass shooting because they wouldn’t be here in the first place. Which on its face is correct.

Obstruction of Justice, Trump-FBI and #TwitterLockOut

So, how this will work is I’ll attempt to lead you to the different view points, and the messaging between the two camps. I’ll also attempt to introduce you to who’s on what side and where they stand. Follow the links to get the full details.

There are two individuals that seem to be writing in an impartial manner that you can trust to be less partisan in what they lay out. One of these is Andrew McCarthy McCarthy is one of the go-to guys for people that back Trump because, for the moment, McCarthy states that he believes that there’s no way that Trump is impeached. His qualifications to make such a judgement? He’s a “Bestselling author. Contributing Editor at National Review & Fellow at NR Inst. Former Chief Asst. U.S. Attorney” His posts are very well laid out and can be accessible by most laymen. This doesn’t mean that everyone agrees with him. In his latest post, he is responding to a critic and lays out a very important point:

A Battle of Epic Porportions

February 21st, 2018 Viewed 570 times

We are in an epic battle, if you have been paying attention to the political chatter, but we aren’t quite sure who is really on the side of truth. On both extremes are people that believe that they are right, moral and just and that the other side is delusional. Both sides are relying on secret proceedings and are determined to read into every bit of information that they can to discern how close their guy is to beating the other guy.

In case you haven’t been paying attention, let’s introduce the cast of characters in this dramatic play.

The Media Doesn’t Learn

February 1st, 2018 Viewed 492 times

You would think that the media would learn. Instead, they just keep going. First, the tweet:

If you read that by itself, you could certainly claim that Trump is claiming that 45.6 million people watched and that he believes that it is the highest number in history. But wait!

She’s right. According to TV Ratings: Trump’s First State of the Union Address Fails to Match Obama:

Obama’s first State of the Union in 2010 drew 48 million viewers across broadcast and cable, while his first address before a joint session of Congress in February 2009 drew 52.4 million viewers.

So what’s the deal here? Power of positive thinking? Outright embellishment or lying? Trying to pull a fast one on the American people?

How about none of the above?

Check out this paragraph in the same article just a little above it:

Fox News topped both its cable and broadcast competition by a wide margin with 11.5 million viewers tuning into the network’s coverage of the speech, notching the highest-rated State of the Union address in the history of cable news [emphasis added]. CNN was second with 3.1 million, with MSNBC drawing 2.7 million. Fox Business Network drew 572,000 viewers. Spanish-language broadcasters Univision and Telemundo added 2 million and 1.4 million respectively. The speech was also carried live on Estrella and PBS.

If you’re not looking for lying every time you read the President, you see an alternative explanation– that Trump is referencing this statistic, not the overall number. He’s highlighting the positive in the report and ignoring the Obama numbers altogether. Well, it’s either that or an outright lie. You may believe what you wish.

And then there’s the bigger issue… Trump has everyone talking about just how many people watched his first State of the Union address. So over and over “45.6 million people watched Trump’s State of the Union!” Again, he’s the center of the news.

When will they learn?

All Donald Trump Has To Do Is Look Presidential in a Debate

July 15th, 2015 Viewed 1356 times

What if the whole offensive rhetoric was both to cast out a position but also to get everyone talking about him and push him into the debates.  Then all he has to do is not come out that way in the debates, looking somewhat more measured and Presidential, and his polls go even higher…

Trump continues to be unpopular among the public at large, with negative marks outpacing positive ones 61-33. "Strongly unfavorable" views outnumber strongly positive ratings by a three-to-one ratio.

From the Washington Post hat tip Ann Althouse

Of course, I’m also interested in seeing what would happen were he to keep this up.  Would the people respond to what they feel is someone that actually will speak his mind regardless of what the politicos say and give him a chance at the Presidency?  Would it increase the turnout in the General Election?

Get out the popcorn.

Is Trump Still a Birther?

April 2nd, 2015 Viewed 1282 times

If Donald Trump decides to run for President, will people remember his research on President Obama’s Birth Certificate, or that he wants to beat China more?
