On last night’s Hannity, Pres. Donald Trump gave a wide ranging interview after the long anticipated Mueller report. In it was a nod to QAnon as well as a response that QAnon told people to look for:

#QAnon Implies That Everything Ties to the Clinton Foundation

Part of the reason for so many people following QAnon is the fact that some of the things that are shared there are believable. I’m not saying that everything there is 100% truth– anyone who has followed for some time will state that some of what is said by Q is misinformation and what is not is cryptic at best.

Occasionally the links from Q are much less cryptic, as what has happened today, as Q links to a Reddit post that puts a lot of the puzzle pieces together into a coherent, believable whole:

QAnon and The Omnibus Spending Package

In a recent post, I introduced the insider named “QAnon” taken from the Q anonymous writer on the 8chan boards. With Friday’s signing of the biggest spending bill of Trump’s presidency, one would believe that Q would show up, and he did.

On Friday, he published that he was updating his tripcode– a code assigned at login to help verify that the user is who they say they are, as all users on 8chan can post anonymously. Some have speculated that some rogue actors are close to discovering the old one, so Q has announced a new one. Another interesting side note here is that there have been a lot of fake Q postings on Twitter lately, something that enhances Q’s reputation, as many will call out these fakes fairly quickly.

Who or What is QAnon?

Anyone that has been around the Internet for a while knows that it is ripe for conspiracy theories. If anything, the fact that anonymous people from all over the world can post things, link things, and use the fact that people are preconditioned to believe certain things to get their point across. We should all be very skeptical of these things, as we should with everything we can’t verify.

Between 2016 and today, a few different anons (all users and 4chan and later 8chan start out as anonymous) appeared to have inside information into things that were happening in and around the election of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States of America. Some of them claimed to be part of the NYPD or NY FBI branch, claiming to have information that was on Anthony Weiner’s laptop, videos of Hillary Clinton, or worse– confirmation of pizzagate conspiracy that claimed highly powerful people were behind a human trafficking ring centered on pizza parlors, code words, and Satanic rituals. As of this writing, while there has been a number of arrests in human trafficking rings around the United States, there’s no evidence to support pizzagate, but that doesn’t stop people from capitalizing on it.
