Election 2012

Republicans Header It was said that the election in 2008 was the earliest start of any election season, with many of the people that were vying for the job campaigning in early 2007.  Political pundits were having fun trying to guess not only who was running, but who would win.

As we all know now, they were all very wrong and had the wrong calculus, so it shouldn’t surprise us to see that they’re at it again—trying to figure out who will run against Pres. Obama in 2012, and talking about it like Pres. Obama will be invincible and have the approval rating he does when he runs again.

Contrary to what you’re lead to believe, the election of a President is not decided on election night by news anchors with big screens contacting election headquarters.  In fact, President-Elect Obama just won the election January 8, 2009.  The vote was 365 to 173 in favor of Pres-Elect Obama over Sen. McCain.

And oh, there’s this little issue of who his supporters are and what they believe.

This week, the U.S. Senate stopped the Auto Bailout bill.  This is the bill that President Bush worked with the Democrat leadership in the House and Senate to try to get passed.  This is the yet another time that the Republicans have stood on principle and have gone against their President and/or Presidential Candidate, Sen. John McCain.
