The House Democrat’s Worst Kept Secret

March 7th, 2019 Viewed 193 times

The Democrats have a dilemma. If they move too fast towards impeachment– which many of their party ran on in 2018– then they look really bad to the Independents, whom everyone thinks you need to win. They look like they are rushing to judgement, with only a little over a year to go before Pres. Trump would face the electorate.

They know that the Republicans looked really bad for going after Pres. Bill Clinton when the majority of the populace really didn’t think his crimes were a big deal. So like those Republicans, whose base wanted Clinton removed, and the electorate disagreeing as to whether he should be, the Democrats are saying that they are “holding Trump accountable” and “following the evidence” whereas everyone knows they are building the case for impeachment.

It seems that my life is now coming around in ways that I wouldn’t have expected.  Some of you know that a little over a year and a half ago I was let go from the company for which I had worked for 10 years, and that I found a different job an hour away.  That led to a move with severance money and an adventure in a place that, though it was still close to family, was wholly different.

And What About Abortion?

The surprise of the Health Insurance debate last fall was that just when the House figured the bill was a go, a bunch of Pro-Life Democrats said “no.”  They needed better language in the bill in order to make sure that the “Hyde Amendment”1 stayed valid.

So, I’m sure you’re thinking that President Obama must have taken that into consideration with his latest bills—right?

Meet John Boehner.  This is the man (well, he and the other Conservative House Republicans) that stand between us and the bailout.

Well, actually, there’s also a lot of politics involved—surprise, surprise.

You see, the President, the Treasury Secretary, the Senate Democrats, the Senate Republicans and the House Democrats all want this bill.  And they have the power to pass it right now.  Today.  Right this minute.

Children seem like they interfere with a marriage—in many ways.  They end up being the focal point of many of our conversation.  They take time to plan for and to correct.  They consume our lives with their love.

That’s why it’s important to…

In the Market for a House, Again

So we’ve started to look at some houses yet again. The difference this time is that our current house is not on the market. After seeing how much stress it caused the last time we tried, my wife and I decided that we’d much rather shoulder the cost of trying to sell an empty house and keep our sanity intact than we would trying to maintain a clean house (at practically a moment’s notice), start homeschooling the children (well, teaching them to read at least) and look for a new house. Plus, we’re not quite sure why the Lord seems to be closing the doors on houses for us right now.

In any event, the whole process will be slightly more costly by doing it this way. You see, after you close on a house you have roughly a month before your first payment on the new house is due. Now, I’ve already been in contact with a mortgage broker, and like all banks they tell me that I can afford quite the house while keeping my current one1. However, these banks don’t take into account standard of living and giving– my more than 10% to my church/charity.
