I missed Father’s Day, but here’s a cute song based on a Bible verse to all the kids out there:

Rather, I fear that too many moms of our generation “major” on these controversial, blood-pressure-raising, attention-getting second- or third-tier issues, while missing the basics:
  • character development
  • obedience
  • the day-in-day-out business of RAISING ENJOYABLE, CHEERFUL, KIND CHILDREN who are growing in their understanding of God and the world He has made.

Moms who fall into this trap are focused on the side-issues but missing the major things.

This applies to dads as well.  How invested are we in raising the next generation of God worshipers instead of living for self?  We need to be very careful with the lives that are entrusted to us– one dad tried to shame his daughter and ended up losing her.  Obviously this is not the way to parent.

Cherry Blossom Couple HeaderI’m sure that if you haven’t ever watched a show then you’ve at least heard of the concept.  Two couples—usually from wildly different backgrounds—offer to have their wives trade places for the week.  Usually it entails the wife living under the host family’s rules for a day or so, followed by the guest implementing new rules for a day or so, then a big meet up where everyone talks about what they have learned about.

Godly Wife: How Do You Make Your Husband Feel?

It’s really interesting being a new dad– more so being a new mom, I can tell– but as any “new” parent knows (whether it’s your first or your fifth) that new “bundle of joy” brings a lot of attention. No, not the “changing diapers, up all night, and you have to feed me now” kind– that’s not what I was talking about. I mean, now people that may never have said “boo” to you before want to come up and comment on the baby and talk to you about everything to from if she smiles to who she looks most like.

This makes the parents feel proud– God did the work, we can take the credit. The question, Godly Wife, is how do you make your husband feel?
