When is a Lie a Lie?

Sala de Parto #3

Two individuals were engaged in name calling, but only one has been forced to apologize.  The question I have is not the decorum question, but the question is “Who’s right?”

You see, when you call something a lie or a person a liar, you’re making a statement that should be verifiable, one way or the other.  But with all the focus of the timing of an outburst to a speech, the focus on the statements themselves is overlooked.

Who’s Worse? The Congressman or the Insurance Companies?

In what felt more like a State of the Union Speech than one on policy, President Obama stood before a joint session of Congress to talk to those gathered and the nation—at least, those that weren’t tuned in elsewhere—about what he envisions health care insurance to look like under his plan.

A few observations:

How the Health Care Mess Could All Go Away

Let it never be said that I don’t try to be helpful.

After giving this whole thing careful thought, I think that the easiest way that President Obama could get out of this whole mess about health care is to propose a unique solution.  But not just any solution, but a few solutions—and the way that he could present it would make even the conservative stand up and take notice.

The group that was behind the Loose Change video—those that think that the government was behind the 9/11 attacks, that it wasn’t really airplanes—are now out with another mission.  Health Care.

Like most of this kind of thing, there’s grains of truth and it’ll play to your suspicions, but does it pass the sniff test?

Responding to critics in the Republican party that claimed ABC was not being fair in holding it’s ABC World News broadcast inside the White House without a single opposing view point voiced, ABC says, “Don’t worry about it, we’re above all this partisan politics:

The Right to be the Only Voice Heard

There are not many reasons why any given politician or President should be the only voice heard on a given issue.  One of these is when there has been a grave situation that has emerged—like 9/11.  Another is when much debate has occurred and there’s a need to come to resolution as one voice.  The last is when it is a distillation of classified material that needs to be presented in a clear way.

I don’t believe that the health care debate is one of those times.

Just Incase You Still Believe Him

By now I’m hoping that you’ve begun to see through the facade.  President Obama promised a lot of things, and contrary to what some would like you to believe, he intends on carrying out his socialist agenda as far as he can get away with.

As If We Weren’t Taxed Enough

One of the signature reforms that was on the lips of the politicians last fall was the health care system.  Whether it was Sen. McCain’s gimmick of allowing insurance companies to go across state lines or then Sen. Obama’s plan to nationalize a bit of the health care system, both of them believed that the health care system was broken and that adding government was the best solution.

Of course, we’ve already discussed this, and know that it’s not, but that doesn’t stop the geniuses that run our government and who are looking to control our every breath deciding that they know better.
