New York State’s New Tax Law
New York State’s recent action to make sure that they get their tax dollars has had a chilling effect across all affiliates from that region.
In case you haven’t heard, NYS has, for some time, been suspicious of people buying and selling stuff online. The rule was that those companies that had physical offices in NYS had to charge tax, but those with outside offices did not. Obviously they thought they weren’t getting their fair share.

Survey Says - May 16th Edition
So, I asked some fine ladies that have much more popular blogs than I do what they do to get 600+ readers and one of the things that they told me was that they run a lot of surveys.
I’ll admit that I used to run surveys in the past, and I don’t know if I got the right questions, but that won’t stop me from trying again. And, in the mean time, I’ve found a neat new feature to try out with Google Documents.
So, I’m wondering, what kind of places you buy things from online, and whether I can help you find good items, and I’d like to use a survey to help us both:

Affiliates - Would You Like to Buy a Vowel?
It was not long after starting to make a little on blogging that I realized that I wasn’t going to be able to make an income on Google AdSense. If you look at my first few months of AdSense it was pathetic (especially considering you don’t get any money until you break $100, and I didn’t do that in my first six months).

I mean, I was able to share with family and friends that they should get an HSBC savings account and they could save many times over their personal checking accounts. And hey, if HSBC will pay me for something that my family and friends will do anyway and it doesn’t cost them anything more, why not?

Great Savings
As you may or may not know, I’m an affiliate with multiple different companies– from Amazon and CBD to Diapers.com and other sites. What this means is that from time to time I get e-mails showing me deals that people can get for signing up with certain sites, buying things from the sites, and when I pass these deals onto you we both benefit.
As we all know, I was able to get out of debt last year, and that was in part because I was able to save money on different things. With this new series I hope to introduce you to some of the places I’m affiliated with, pass along some of things that you can save on, and if you find a good deal, please take advantage of it!
I will also be sharing with you some deals that I’ve found that you can use when you’re out with kids– both advertised and not advertised. If you’re going to spend money, I’ll try to help you spend it smarter.
