One of the arguments that the Pro-Abortion side of the debate uses to attempt to assuage guilt and justify their position is to assign and control the names given to life in an attempt to dehumanize it.  They believe—and it’s worked for a while—that if they are able to call the baby in the mother’s womb a “fetus”, then they will be able to convince the mother that it isn’t a baby:

The unborn is an embryo or a fetus—just a simple blob of tissue, a product of conception—not a baby.  Abortion is terminating a pregnancy, not killing a child.

It’s Just Semantics

A baby, by any other name, is still a baby.  However, some today are attempting to change the name Fetus to mean “less than human” and they apply that name to the most defenseless among us in order to justify their own desire.

Have you ever noticed how militant the Pro-Abortion side is about using the term Fetus for the pre-born baby?  Why do you think they are frightened of that name?

One of the arguments for giving the baby in the womb a different name is that we believe that what we can’t see must be less than we are.  It’s a completely ridiculous assumption, but like news items from places that we cannot see, we tend to believe what those that appear to have authority or knowledge tell us.

Watch any television drama that has a death take place, and you see someone check for a pulse or brainwaves.  Once those things are not present, the good guys try to revive the deceased and the bad guys are filled with glee.

Only when it comes to abortion, no one tries to revive the deceased, innocent child inside the mothers womb—or that is now lying scattered in pieces on the physician’s table.

So Why Do It?

Young Teenage Mother Woes Header

If it’s so obvious that a child in the womb is a baby, a human life, then why would mothers choose to end the lives of their infants.  If a mother waited until after a child was born to kill her child, she’d be under murder charges or checked into a pysch ward.  But if she opts to kill her child in the womb, she’s celebrated as a liberated female.

Why such a dichotomy?
