Saginaw, Michigan, 30-year-old Laura L. Findlay, band teacher for Ricker Middle School, has been charged with 20 counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person under the age of 16. According to Prosecutor Michael D. Thomas, investigators have identified five victims, including a 14-year-old eighth-grader who told his father that Findlay took him to the band room and performed oral sex. Update: A former middle school band teacher who admitted that she had sexual contact with six male students was sentenced today to seven to 25 years in prison. Laura L. Findlay, 32, pleaded guilty under an agreement with prosecutors last month in Saginaw County Circuit Court to 22 counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person younger than 16. Judge William A. Crane also ordered Findlay to register as a sex offender and to pay $1,380 in fees and fines.
