Five Reasons Bloggers Need to Get Their Own Domain

Work 1

There are many free services out on the Internet that will help you get your feet wet with the daily ins and outs of blogging.  And it’s great fun to write your post and get your first comment.

Some sites even build little communities around your blog, so that you feel that you are part of a bigger group of people.  All of this is well and good, if you really want to spend all of your time writing something for someone else to use and have rights to.

Where are You?

Tire swing kids

This week is Vacation Bible School at my church—first time in a few years.  So, I’m knee deep in Dinosaurs, song leading, and having kids battling a virus.

So, I’m around, commenting, visiting, and using Stumble Upon for some commentary (and even a little Twitter) but haven’t gotten a chance, really, for any good posts.  Though I have some really great topics—so you’ll just have to stay tuned.

How Do You Find Good Hosting

I’m really blessed.  One of my college friends spent some time working for a hosting company so when the time came to move this blog off of Bravenet I had someone to ask about hosting and where we should go.

How do you go about finding good hosting?  Well, there’s a number of things to look at:

Caption Contest 1 Result

So, here are the results for the first caption contest:

  1. Ladies and Gentlemen, a regular diet of fruits and vegetables, including bananas, will help you with maintaining your regularity. (2 votes)
  2. Mr. President, it’s time to stop fooling around. Sen. McCain is waiting on the phone. (2 votes)
  3. Shhhhh, I think I found the perfect hiding place… finally!! (1 vote)
  4. Bobby Banana wanted to be like all the other kids - a regular boy. (1 vote)

That means there were 6 votes– surely we can do better than that!

What’s Going on Around the Network

keyboardIt’s that time again.  Time to see what’s going on around MInTheGap’s network:

This week sees the finish of the second chapter of The Disappearing Damsel in Distress over at my fiction site.  We’re getting an inside glimpse into what Detective Schofield likes to do when there’s not a case– and it looks like he likes to play Capture the Flag.
