In an attempt to lighten up on Saturdays, I’ll attempt to publish some videos that I have seen that I think are fascinating or fun. I hope that you enjoy them.

The Best of 2008
It’s that time again. Time to look back at 2008 and see how the Lord blessed:
Change is in the Air
The human experience is full of change. Nothing is consistent and nothing is guaranteed. Some parents wish that their children would never grow up, because at each stage of life there’s something new and unique to enjoy. People enter and leave our lives at various times, and try as we might we are not able to keep them where we want them.
Continuing Through the Weekend
Weekends are back.
This summer, I suspended writing for the weekends, only popping up occasionally, but starting this weekend the analysis will continue. So, if you aren’t already subscribed to my RSS feed, you’ll want to check back here this weekend and every one up until the election because we’re going to keep talking about the grand themes and what comes up next.
Brillante Weblog Premio – 2008
Mama Archer has given this blog an award. At least, I think it’s this blog. Nowadays you have to be pretty good to find where I’m writing. (Whew!)
In any case, I’d like to thank—wait a second. She says I got this award because I’m one of her top 5 commenters. So I got this award because of my quantity of comments.
Hmm.
Preaching on Sunday
As some of you know, I occasionally fill in the pulpit for my church when the pastor’s away. For the last four or five years I’ve also filled the pulpit in a small church in a nearby town when their pastor1 takes vacation. I did this back around Memorial Day, and I was asked to do it again this weekend.
I was looking through some of the sermon material that I used only a few months ago (and blogged), and I was figuring that if I ran out of time I would recycle2.
Whoa—Time to Cut Back on the Plugins!
The other day I was noticing that my blog was running ridiculously slow when I was in the admin panel. This was with having Google Gears turned on.
There are three things that go toward the speed of your blog—or any computer for that matter. The number of processors, the amount of memory, and the amount of time across the network.
Since I only deal with broadband Internet, I didn’t think it was that. Memory seemed ok—and the main site was functional. That, and other sites I’m running seemed to be downright perky. So, what was the deal?
No Longer a CBD Affiliate
Up until today I’ve had an affiliate relationship with CBD. If you purchased something from CBD through this site, I received a portion of that sale for getting them the business.
Effective today, because of the decision of my State’s elected leaders to try to get every penny from online sales, that relationship has been terminated.
Summer Series Spectacular
So I’m trying something a little new and different, and that’s why it’s been a little quiet here. Basically, I’ve decided that I would like to try to use the slow summer months to write some longer posts and series rather than just going crazy trying to keep up with news.
To that end, I have a few series I’ve started to write, and I’ll post them when completed, and let them overlap to some degree. That way I should be able to maintain a consistent set of content that you can expect, and I’ll vary the topic.
Have You Seen the Wall?
Over on the right-most sidebar is a new widget—the Wall. Back when I was at Bravenet it was called a tag board, and it could be compared to a shout box, but this is a wall (I think it gets its name from Facebook).
So, if you have a quick message to send, try it out. It works with AJAX, so you should not have to see a post back, and you can make any comment you’d like.
It’s just one more way for us to keep in touch!
Then again, I do have the tendency to feel that I’m talking to that wall over there, since this is summer and everyone seems to be enjoying the outdoors.
I think that’s what it is…
Maybe it’s my breath? …
Hello?
