Caption Contest 9 - Linus’ Friend

Hail the Great Pumpkin I know, it’s not October yet, but this picture is fun just the same, and it leaves us with some burning questions:

  • What is this kid saying/doing?
  • Is he a true believer in the Great Pumpkin?
  • Is he wearing blue because that’s the color of Linus’ blanket?
  • Where are the vines for the pumpkins?
  • Am I stealing all the good captions?

There’s only one more caption contest after this week.  If you haven’t gotten in, and you have a good idea, or you just want to humor me at my attempt to be funny in the midst of a summer that no one seems to be around and wanting to comment on this site—feel free to offer a comment in the box below.

Come on, you know this is a cute picture.  You know you want to comment.

Put on your thinking caps and come up with some good captions!

Caption Contest 8 - They’re Driving Me Nuts!

NutsI’m sure we’ve all had these days.  And I’m sure that we can all empathize with the woman.  So, why is this particular woman trying to pull her hair out?

Better yet, why is she dressed to match the room, and why is it hard to tell whether she’s smiling or screaming?

I know that the moms out there that read this may be able to peer inside her mind.  And I’m just waiting to see what you come up with.

In any case, let us in on why you think that this woman is carrying on, and perhaps what we can do to help.

Do so in the comments section below…

Please?

Pretty Please?  Or perhaps I will have to pull my hair out?

Caption Contest 7 - Laughter

laughter So, here’s a crowd of people, going to see (and record) something, and they’re all laughing!

Why did they let that guy with the camera in, anyway?  Is he filming the photographer or the show?

Why are a lot of these people wearing green and sitting in green chairs?

Pick a person (like the guy with the hand to his mouth) and tell us what he’s saying– or what is everyone laughing at? Your choice!

Caption Contest 6 - Translation Needed

carnival de ovar 1This caption contest is easy– just figure out what it is that is the caption for the book.

No, I don’t have any clue what language that is, and that’s what makes it more fun.

No, I don’t know what culture dresses their children up as books.

Yes, I do think that this child colored the book herself.

Bonus points if you come up with the context for this occasion and can tell me what the boy in the red is thinking about the girl in the blue.

Update- The language on the front of the book is Portuguese, and though there is some discrepancy as to what the translation of the actual words on the book are, come up with your captions regardless of what it really says!

The Greatest Sin of the American Culture

Plastic Cash Header

If I were to ask you what you thought the greatest sin the America culture is guilty of, what would you select?  You may pick one of the big problems Christians see with the culture—abortion, greed, homosexuality, etc.  But I believe that you’d be mistaken.  Don’t get me wrong—I believe these are a problem, but I believe that they are the outgrowth of a deeper sin, rather than truly the problem itself.

Caption Contest 4 - What are You Looking At?

There’s an interesting side story to today’s photo. I used to work for a guy that had a series of expressions that he used all the time. He could use the phrase "At the end of the day" ten times in a single meeting.

One of the phrases that he said often to our all male team was "Just between us girls," which was an expression that picked up on the fact that ladies tend to share tidbits between each other… well, you get the idea.

So, you ladies out there have got to have some idea as to what is going through these girls minds.  I mean, there’s the one girl that’s still got her trusty blanket, and the girl in pink is thinking something about the girl in white.

What do you think these girls are thinking?

Caption Contest 3 - To Serve and Protect

colorfullFor my birthday, my college buddy got me The A-Team - Season Two. Very rarely does anyone die– I mean, these people must be the worst shots in all of television! It’s a good thing that they flip a car almost every episode, or else it would have been dull.

I’m hoping that this new picture energizes your creative juices.  These guys are characters– who wears a white belt?  Who stands around pointing in the air? Who are the guys on the right, and what does the guy in the red tie know?

Come up with a caption in comments below, voting will begin this weekend.
