It really doesn’t matter if your Scottish– all stripes including Atheists like to exclude those from their company that don’t fit their definition of their group or that make them look bad.

Biblical Perspective

“One of the greatest benefits to be gleaned from the Bible is perspective.  When we get discouraged, we temporarily lose our perspective.  Focusing on God’s word for even ten or fifteen minutes allows you to put daily issues into perspective.”  – JA Lacy

How Much Could You Give To Charity?

August Vegetables 2The American economy today is largely based on slavery.  No, I don’t mean the kind you read about in the Civil War, I mean the kind where you trade your future income for the chance to “have it now” commonly known as credit.

Rarely does the modern American have money to be generous with, because he’s living paycheck to paycheck to pay for the ever increasing luxuries that he is told he has to have by the expensive entertainment system he has in his home.

Why You Should Get Out of Debt

August 19th, 2008 Viewed 1806 times

This world is backwards. Everyone loves to talk about using OPM (other people’s money) to purchase things or to gain wealth. I just don’t get it. Mathematically I understand the advantages of leveraging debt, but math cannot be used to understand every situation. As emotional creatures we were not designed to function as walking calculators making every decision based solely on the numbers.

While math plays a role in our financial lives, there are far more powerful truths, like discipline for example. The thing is that most of us know mathematically what we should do with our finances, yet because of a lack of discipline we don’t do it. So, what then needs fixing – the math or the discipline?

cris photoshoped by djemJesus said, “The Sheep hear my voice and they know me.”  But how does someone who has never heard God audibly know that voice?

With all the distractions, formulas, and Christian help books on the market teaching you how to pray, how to read your Bible, and “What worked for me!”, how does one know that that is how God will speak to them?

God will uniquely communicate with you

How God will speak to you may or will be different than how He speaks to someone else.  The important thing to remember is that He will speak to those that are His.

A Visionary Dream

There’s a famous dilemma that’s called the Chicken and the Egg dilemma. Perhaps you’ve heard of it. It goes, “Which came first, the Chicken or the Egg?”

For the Christian, the answer is simple—the chicken was created with the fouls on day 5.

Inside this discussion, however, is a very important truth. When it comes to the Christian life, God always comes first—then the believer. Yet often we replace the order and wonder why we don’t have the power of God.

Starting Monday I want to look at this truth—that God came first, and see what the Bible has to tell us about living a life that’s in God’s will.
