Abortion Hurts Women

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA When I say that Abortion Hurts Women, I’m not talking about a lot of things that are very valid:

  • I’m not talking about the physical pain of dilation before the baby is taken.
  • I’m not talking about the physical pain of healing after the procedure.
  • I’m not talking about the emotional pain of knowing that a life was ended.
  • I’m not talking about the pain that is felt every time a mother sees another child of the same age.

More basic than that– Abortion is killing women.

Abortion Claims Another Victim

love in a cave According to The Times Online, abortion can effect your relationship– including your sex life:

Lack of interest in sex after an abortion is so common that it can almost be said to be expected. Before long your libido is likely to have returned, but both you and your partner have to bear in mind that even now having an abortion is a huge event in anyone’s life. It is possible, but by no means inevitable, that the changes this will have wrought in the way you feel about a future together may have irretrievably undermined your relationship. If this happens, neither of you should assume blame or feel guilty….

Links 14 Year Old Drowns Baby In School Toilet

Quite the sad story that asks the question, what’s the difference before the child was delivered and moment’s after when it was in the toilet?

Barak Obama: I Don’t Want My Daughters “Punished” With a Baby

Just state it like it is, Senator.  You don’t want your daughters to have to take responsibility for their actions.  You want them to engage in adult (and I would add marital) activity with an escape in case they happen to get the adult responsibility that comes with the action.

An Easter observation

An interesting observation that Evangelical Christians may gain the upper hand because of how they value children vs. aborting them.

Abortionist Says He’ll Obey Law Yet Bar Men from Room

An Abortionist told medical students that it was acceptable to lie to patience to get the man out of the room when abortion was performed.  It turns out the guys didn’t like seeing their girls going through a painful procedure…

Number of Abortions lowest in decades in US, survey finds

Of course the article ignores the possible obvious reason– that the country may be trending pro-life and that more people are choosing to keep their child instead of kill him/her?

Vogue Magazine Under Fire for Promoting Partial-Birth Abortion

Of all forms of abortion, many people unite behind PBA being the most like torture, the most inhumane, etc.  How anyone could get behind this procedure is anyone’s guess.

Change the Way Young Men View Young Women

Buffy gives some practical ways that we can reduce the abortion rate by changing the cultures views of each other– a worthwhile goal because ultimately it has to come from the heart.

Liberals Lie, Children Die

Is it all right for a corporation to mask its identity for the purposes of setting up a business the city might not want?  What if that corporation is an abortion provider?

You Can’t Have it Both Ways

Teenagers' Hope Header

Within the comments this weekend was a truly fascinating discussion between Musicguy and myself over the differences between personal liberty and discrimination. Fascinating on more than one level– so I thought I’d share it with you in case you missed it. The original comments took place on the post “An Omen of Things to Come.”

(When I started writing this I expected it to be short, but it turned out to be one of the longer things I’ve written. So, I’m breaking it up into three posts.)

Barak Obama and Abortion

baby He can’t seem to escape it.  A short time ago, Barak Obama made a comment regarding his young daughters– that if they “made a mistake” he didn’t want them “punished with an STD or a child” (paraphrase).  So, when the Compassion Forum came up, the moderator gave him a chance to clarify his comment:

What I was saying was that my daughters are 9 and 6. And so if, at the age of 12 or 13, they made what I would consider to be a mistake, in having sex or unprotected sex, and ended up getting pregnant – I think that statistically we know 12- or 13-year-olds who are having children are much more likely to be impoverished, are much more likely to have health problems, are much more likely to have trouble raising that child.

She’s Having Twins– How far along?

Holly Here’s a family friend who moved away.  Her oldest son is 6 months younger than our oldest.  She’s having twins, but is facing some complications.  First off, she has placenta previa.  And if that doesn’t make it complicated, she’s due at the end of May but is on bed rest in the Hospital because they had to stop labor once already.

So, make sure you say a prayer for her and her babies as she’s away from her boys and tries to give her twins the best opportunity she can for survival.

Google and Abortion

Pregnant Mom Stress What should be a search engine’s duty when it comes to advertisements?

Google AdWords denied a Christian Institute’s desire to place a link for the keyword “Abortion” that would have read as follows:

“U.K. abortion law — news and views on abortion from the Christian Institute,” with a link to its Web site.

The reason?  Because the site contained not only facts about abortion but a religious view point.

How Far Along Is She?

Sheri PrescottThere’s nothing like children when it comes to blessings from the Lord.  They are a gift from God like no other.  I think far too often those of us on the pro-life side don’t say enough about the value of a child, and the great blessing children are.

Yes, we talk about the feeding schedule, the diapers that need to be changed, the sleep we’ve lost, but there’s nothing like the bond that forms, the value they add to your lives, and the chance you have to be a part of another eternal being’s life.
