I Wish I Believed in Luck
Watching Fox News call both Ohio and Pennsylvania for Sen. Obama, I could remain optimistic that the Exit Polling could be wrong. I mean, we heard all day that people were thinking of lying to the Exit Pollsters to make the media look back, and we heard that it won’t be over until the votes are counted.
But now the votes are counting, and it does indeed appear to be exactly what they were saying—that our country has decided to give control of power to the Democrats.

On Palin as Vice President
Many of you know that I have struggled with the idea of Gov. Palin being Vice President from a Scriptural side of concept. I personally believe that God has chosen—by His will, for His own reasons—to create man first, and to use this as the basis for leadership (in the home, in the church, and in the country).

Predicting a McCain Win

It’s fun to read who people think will win. The conventional wisdom is that we’ll wake up tomorrow and Sen. Obama will be victorious. You read some places and they say that it’ll be close or a blowout.
If you’re looking for encouragement in regards to Sen. McCain winning, here are a couple sites for you.
Vox Day may have called Hillary Clinton getting the nomination wrong, but he’s got McCain winning.

What Is Expedient
There’s a verse in the New Testament where Paul makes a statement about Christian liberty. He says that while all things may be lawful for him, only some things are expedient—some things work toward the ends of building up the saints in Christ.
Sen. Obama is saying things on different topics because of their political expediency, not because they are what he actually believes.

Political Videos
Well, it’s come to the weird part of the 2008 campaign. A lot of places have already started voting. The sermon this morning was about trusting God for the outcome—and that He is sovereign. Many weird things are coming out, and people from the candidates on down will tell you it’s all about turnout while launching yet new attacks.
Like all elections, it matters not what the polls say, but what “the poll” says.

Are You Voting for Chuck Baldwin?
“Who?” I can hear a bunch of you asking. Yes, the man on your right is running for President of the United States (in case you didn’t know), and he does have a following in different circles.
As many of you know, I don’t think much of Sens. McCain or Obama, and wish there was a candidate that I agreed with. However, I have not had much time to look into the third party candidate, but there are some in my blogging sphere that support Chuck Baldwin for President.

Do You Believe This Poll?
According to John Zogby—the pollster who got the 2000 electoral contest closest—McCain has taken his first lead since the convention:
"Is McCain making a move? The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama today, 48% to 47%. He is beginning to cut into Obama’s lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all. "Obama’s lead among women declined, and it looks like it is occurring because McCain is solidifying the support of conservative women, which is something we saw last time McCain picked up in the polls. If McCain has a good day tomorrow, we will eliminate Obama’s good day three days ago, and we could really see some tightening in this rolling average. But for now, hold on."

Obama’s Aunt is Here Illegally
Talk about a strange thing to read about in the news this Saturday morning. The AP is reporting that an aunt of Presidential candidate Sen. Barak Obama is in the national illegally, having been asked to leave some time ago:
Barack Obama’s aunt, a Kenyan woman who has been quietly living in public housing in Boston, is in the United States illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, The Associated Press has learned.
Now, let’s be realistic to some degree. I have many aunts and uncles, and I know that they’re all national born citizens. However, on one side of my family I have no clue what their status is. There as at least one uncle that lives out of state, and I know that I haven’t heard the status of most of my cousins.
