Scott Brown Plays White Man to Elizabeth Warren’s Cherokee

In what continues to be an interesting race, Sen. Scott Brown went after Elizabeth Warren’s claim to be a Native American in their first debate:

“Professor Warren claimed that she was a Native American, a person of color, and as you can see, she’s not,” said Brown, who repeatedly called on Warren to release her personnel records to put to rest whether the claim helped her gain employment at Harvard University or the University of Pennsylvania. “When you are a U.S. senator, you have to pass a test and that’s one of character and honesty and truthfulness. I believe and others believe she’s failed that test.”

She denied doing it, but refused to release her records when challenged by Brown.

Is this an important point?  I mean, should we really care what an elected official does to get a job early in their career?

Absolutely.

People need to know the game that you play, what you’re willing to do in order to get a win.  Once they know, then they can decided whether to support you.

However, I would argue that most of the time, with politicians, they all play politics and games and are rarely transparent.  So this is really just a “I can’t believe you let yourself get caught” moment in my book.
