Employment and Salary for Accountants and Auditors

What I find interesting about the Accountant and Auditor career tracks is that because of the recent banking failures these professions that help keep people honest have grown as far as their responsibility and requirements.  Most businesses have to have them, and trust them, in order to meet regulations.

What’s interesting is that, during the height of the recession in 2008, there as a lot of demand and accountants and auditors made more.  Now, they’re not getting as much:

That’s an interesting graph. One thing that’s clear from it is that come recession or boom, there will always be a need for accountants and auditors. In fact, accounting is considered a fairly recession-proof profession. In my view, the role of an accountant assumes even more importance when businesses have to tighten their purse strings and operate under strict financial regulations. Anyone considering this career should earn a Bachelor degree in Accounting. A CPA license later will help enhance employability even further!
