Online Auctions with a Twist

future 2

Most of you are probably familiar with purchasing or selling items on different auction sites online.  One of my main strategies for buying things on eBay was to have two windows open at the same time when the time gets close to one minute left, and have the other one ready to put in a big—a strategy called sniping.  This strategy tends to frustrate the people that lock in a bid that wasn’t purely their highest bid.

What if I told you that there were other online sites, and that one called Swizzie might be the neatest auction site I’ve come across?

Swizzie Live Auctions are different than most live auctions in that they actually have a built in wait time.  What I mean is that, you still have a certain starting price and you have a certain amount of time left, but when the time gets down to where most people would be sniping on eBay, time is actually added to the clock to give more people a chance to get in on the bidding.

Now, this might sound like you may not get the best deal; however, unlike eBay, the items sold on Swizzie are brand new items.  There isn’t an abundance of 3rd party sellers.

For example, right now on Swizzie I find a Samsung Blue-Ray player, an Apple iPhone 4, a Kindle DX all the way down to an Xbox 360 with Kinect and an iPad.

As of this writing, the iPad is going for $47.33 with 10 minutes remaining.  Yes, you read that right.

It seems like an interesting premise—free shipping, you get a certain number of bids that you can make, and you get to bid on new stuff.  To learn more, check out Swizzie Reviews.

It’s certainly worth a look, and who knows, you might find you like this better than any other auction site you’ve ever tried!
