It’s hard to know what to do with a car that you no longer have a use for. Some people attempt to sell theirs, only to find it is a hassle to deal with people coming to see it and they are unsure how to price it. Some try to trade their vehicle in toward a new one—only to find that the trade in value is not what they expected.
A great alternative to these options is to donate a car to a charity—one that will help people and make a difference in peoples lives.
The way that car donations work is that they will take the car and take care of (sell it in whatever way possible) and take the proceeds from the sale to help the specific group they are working with.
There are many different organizations that accept donations of vehicles. Today, I specifically want to reference the purple heart car donations—those donations that benefit our Veterans.
One of the neat things about donating a vehicle to Purple Heart Car Donations is that much of it occurs online. They have a great website with easy to follow instructions—just fill out the online form and they will send someone by with a tow truck to take the vehicle off your hands. Once the donations is complete, you receive a receipt detailing how much you can write off your taxes.
The best part is that your donation goes toward helping individuals that sacrificed for you—it’s amazing!
The site has a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section as well as a place where you can contact them if you have any questions.
So next time you decide it’s time to get a new vehicle, think of the veterans and people in need and consider donating your car. You’ll be glad you did!
it must be better to donate if you can not sell a good price.after all, this is good and kind thing ,not to make the car to rust in your storage.
However, i think this need owner is richer. at least i can not reach this level. ahah.
