$6,500 Tax Credit!

Husband and Wife 2

Are you looking to buy a home?  Now is the perfect time!

The Federal Government, in an effort to increase home sales, has offered an $8,000 tax credit for first time home buyers, and a $6,500 Tax Credit for those who have lived in their home more than 5 years and want to move.

This tax credit was supposed to expire in November 2009, but Congress extended it and now’s the perfect time to take advantage of this money before it runs out.

I just missed the chance last year to get in on this deal, as I moved locations, selling my first house almost 5 years exactly.  The deal was on for first time homebuyers, which is what the man was that purchased my old house.

My brother is getting his tax credit.  He and his wife purchased their home last November—right before the initial time period came to an end—and he’s planning on putting new windows in his new house with the money he should be getting back from his federal income tax here shortly.

It’s like knocking $8,000 (or $6,500) off the price of the house—almost the realtor’s cost of selling!

So, if you’re in the market for a house, please take advantage of this deal from the government—you won’t regret it!
