The End of a Blog

Work 1

Back in 2004 I started MInTheGap on Bravejournal based off the pseudonym I was using on’s message boards.  Before that, I was updating static pages with links to articles I found interesting.  I’ve been in and around blogging for a while.

It was until I started trying to make money blogging, and moved to that I actually started reading about blogging, how to become a better blogger and what I could do to successfully make money at something I enjoy doing.

Around that time, a friend and I started a hosting company, and I found that I had a ton of ideas of what I could write about how I could get people to read and what things I found interesting.

I started coming up with different names and gimmicks and during my high writing times I found myself writing content for as many as 7 blogs that I owned.  I also had a couple of domain-names/blogs that I have installed with nothing on them.

But there’s a problem, and it was brought to the front with the arrival of our forth child.  I just don’t have the time or stamina to continue to keep 7 blogs running.

I’m attempting to restart Is This Modest, and I think it has a lot of potential.  I love this blog and what it has been over it’s multiple years, and so it’s also not going anywhere.  I think that Weekend Kindness may still have some mileage, and VeggieTales Review is still a unique place, but there are a couple blogs that just aren’t making it, or are redundant.

MInTheGap has always been a place where we not only talked politics and culture, but that we also explored the Bible—what it teaches, how it effects our lives, etc.  From time to time I’ve discussed sermons that I’ve prepared and thoughts that I’ve had that were out there.

The problem is, I tried to start a blog, Midnight Musings, because I liked the name and I had a neat gimmick.  But it’s the same type of content as I have, just without the traffic and comments.

To that end, I have decided to cease posting on Midnight Musings, and post all of it’s content here at MInTheGap—All comments will also be moved, but there are hardly any.

It actually also gives me a chance at a new audience and relieves some of the time constraints I’m under having a new child1 and trying to Is This Modest back up and running at full capacity.

If you made it this far in this post, thanks, and I look forward to what God has ahead for us.

  1. More on that later. 🙂 []

I don’t know how you keep them all running, anyway! 🙂

    Congrats on baby number 4!
