But to pick up on your last throwaway point. The problem with your “In God we Trust” is that is quite obviously contrary to the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the US Constitution. The fact that so far the courts have been too spineless to deal with it doesn’t alter the fact that it is unconstitutional. Ditto the recently added ‘godding’ in the pledge - particularly said in public schools.

These are not “free speech” issues. These are matters of constitutional law.</description>
