You're right, Musicguy. You can't stand and preach that quote from your book, and then compete in a beauty contest. It's inconsistent. I can understand if she's had a change of heart, but it just makes her seem opportunistic.

The book of Romans talks about people that will use Christianity for the purpose of profit or building themselves up, and if Miss Prejean truly wanted to show that her faith was real, she'd spend more time doing good quietly rather than what she's doing now. And saying "well, everyone has problems" doesn't quite do it for me. If you realize that you have a problem or that something is wrong, you either stop doing it or try hard to stop.

I hope that she learns a lesson from this, and can really get back to what it really means to follow Christ, rather than trying to profit off of His followers.

Reports today say that the video was made in 2007 (which means she was not underage at the time), and there are others.

There should be a picture of her next to "hypocrite" in the dictionary, especially after this gem from her new book: "Young women should resist the pressures of popular culture and of sex. Our bodies are temples of the Lord. We should earn respect and admiration for our hearts, not for showing skin to look sexy."

I wonder how a boob job and the scantily clad swimsuit competition fit into that.
