Remember, back when you were in school. The teacher would give you homework, and you’d dutifully write it down, and then proceed to forget the book you need back at school?
Today’s technology is great, is it not? Not only can that document or e-mail from your work computer be seen from home, but you can actually use programs to remote control other computers and get remote support from people that know what they’re doing.
As a software developer, and someone that gets calls not only from clients but also from family members, one of the hardest things to do is to help someone with something on a screen that you cannot see.
Fortunately there are services like the one provided by Proxy Networks. They are specialists in remote access software that can get you the help when you need it. They specialize in business support—you know, those guys in IT that have to come down because you configured the wrong printer.
Their software has better encryption—256-bit, the highest in its class!—than the other free remote controlling software sites, and keeping the company’s data safe is critically important.
At my previous job, competitors to this project were banned from the site because of the security implications. You see, there’s some slick stuff that’s being done in order for a computer that’s on the Internet to get behind your company’s firewall and let it get at the data—you wouldn’t want just anyone being able to control your work computer, would you?
So, stay safe, play it smart. And don’t forget your books… Not everyone has a dad with a key to the school building!
