Little did I know what I was in for.  It was all supposed to be great.  We were getting a bigger house.  I was moving to my new place of employment.  We were getting an attached garage.

It wasn’t until one of the spring nights I was out, and it bit me.  Well, it almost bit me.  Mosquitoes.

Back in my old house, we were up higher than the water level.  Our basement never got had any water on it.  There were few trees around, and little standing water.

Now, I’ve moved into a marsh.  After a rain, you can see water laying around everywhere.  And the sump pumps from the houses ends up pooling in my backyard.

When I remarked to a guy where I work about it, he said that there are a couple of weeks where he doesn’t even want to go outside at night.

Great.  I think I’m going to have to get some kind of mosquito trap.  I mean, I like being outdoors at night, when it’s cooler.  I like being able to grill or just enjoy playing some ball.  Who would have guessed that I would have moved in to a swamp.

They should have disclaimers!

Why do I want to itch all night or worse—get some kind of disease.  It makes me wish for DDT!
