A recent survey showed an interesting result.  The only group the GOP was not losing numbers from was Frequent Church Attendees.  In every other group, the GOP has lost a percentage of support when compared to 2001.

On its face, one could say that this is because the GOP is losing touch with America, that its values aren’t in sync with the American people, and that the GOP is doomed to be the party out of power.

And I think you’d be wrong.

What was your reaction when, earlier this week, we found that our paleontologists had done it again?  Done what?  Well how many times can you “find the missing link that proves evolution and our link to primates?”

I mean, wasn’t that what Lucy was?

Congress Must Stink at Checkers

Checkerboard header My oldest son has gotten pretty good at looking to see how his brother’s piece will take his, and only moving into “safe” locations. However, he and Congress both have a similar problem with strategy– they only look at the next move.

The Obama Administration and Congress have decided that they must do everything in their power to make you spend money, but not your money– they want you to spend someone else’s money!  They just want capital in the system.

For the first time in the past 15 years that Gallup has been tracking the question, a majority of the American people have indicated that they are pro-life.

Miss California goes to Fox News

Prejean on Fox News

The story just continues to get stranger, doesn’t it?

The Miss USA pageants always do something to keep themselves in the news, and this year was no different.  But it wasn’t a girl that couldn’t get her geography right, or the overall winner making the news, it was the answer that one contestant—who was a runner up—gave to a politically loaded question that started it, and then photos that were revealed of her that kept her in the news.  Ultimately she did get to keep her title, but not without a lot of handwringing and the head of the Miss California competition resigning.

What Was That About a Contract?

He probably wasn’t voted “most likely to run a used car lot” in high school, but President Obama seems to be trying to run just about everything these days.  There’s not an area of our lives in which he’s not trying to have an influence and control over.

The problem is that with all of his expansion of government power and the tyranny he’s foisting on an electorate that’s either still in the honeymoon phase or that is just still blinded by his star power, he’s running roughshod over our founding principles and documents.

Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell

It was a policy put into place by President Bill Clinton in an entirely different climate for the homosexual movement.  In order to both cater to these supports but still ally the fears and concerns of the armed forces, a deal was struck that officers would not be asked their orientation and were instructed not to tell their orientation, or else they would be removed from service.

Buying From Only White People

What if I told you that, from here on out, I was only going to buy things from stores that I was only going to purchase items of clothing from stores that were own and run by only white people.  That I was going to do research on every company to make sure that only white people lived there or were owners, and that not a single dollar of my money would ever be paid to a person of a different color.

What would I be labeled?

So, you can imagine my surprise the way this couple has been treated—calling a “buy black” experiment something that has been a movement, and giving it positive coverage:

The Ongoing Circle

Tax Forms

Government always behaves in a predictable manner, and nothing’s more obvious than when it comes to taxes.

At any given time there are a set of programs that government runs that costs it a certain set of money.  Yet government doesn’t have enough money to to pay for the programs that they have (or they create more programs such that they don’t have enough money), so they have one of two options: cut spending or raise taxes.

Congress Does Not Want You To Save

For all of their talk about wanting the American people to save money, Congress and the Federal Government are doing everything in their power to cause you to spend money.

Think about it—why is there a stimulus plan?  Why does Congress pin everything on the banks not supplying credit?  It’s not because Congress wants you to have an emergency fund, pay of debt, or increase your savings.  In fact, it’s exactly the opposite.
