I don’t know who to believe—my own eyes or the media.
According to what I read the other day online, the recession and what is going on in the world is causing more men and women to seek ways to prevent pregnancy. I’ve even heard more ads on the radio for different kinds of treatments—some where there is no surgery or cutting!
And who can’t understand their reasoning? People see a long time before our economy will recover, and children cost money—feeding them, diapers, etc. 1
Then there’s the flip side. I can’t go anywhere without seeing one pregnant person—that includes online! I just saw one in the store tonight. 2008 had the highest number of pregnancies ever, and from what I’m seeing 2009 might beat it!
There is some comfort in the closeness that physical intimacy brings, and that intimacy brings children.
What’s neat is that with our modern technology and the ways in which we can connect, there are really great websites and forums that help a new mom during her pregnancy—answering questions on everything from nausea to what to expect during child birth. Health Guru is one such site, giving all sorts of videos and guides to help you not only learn when the best time to conceive is, but also what to expect when you’re expecting. There are loads of things available for the expecting mom, and for those that want to be a mom.
It’s amazing what is available and what you can find out by doing some research online—which is especially helpful if you’re waiting a little while before letting others know!

I think people are going out and getting dogs because dogs don’t divorce you if you go bankrupt. I think that’s basically because they don’t know you’ve gone bankrupt, but still…
