I can’t believe the number of young ladies that I’ve seen as I’ve been out shopping that are pregnant. It’s a great thing!
Children are the best. They’re better than any kind of pet, and they are truly blessings from the Lord.
One of the neatest things, I think, about living in 2009 and being pregnant is that people are beginning to celebrate the pregnant state instead of trying to hide it. You can see it directly through the number of stores and websites that have popped up to provide fashionable and trendy maternity clothes.
Like most clothing stores, you do have to be careful if you’re mindful of modesty that you find something that is appropriate. One of the trends today is to show off the pregnant belly, and I’d definitely stay away from that.
However, that does not mean that you cannot shop and use your discernment at stores that have a wide selection. Take Kiki’s Fashions. They have the outfit I show above on the left hand side of their homepage, but an image of a girl showing her belly on the right. Inside the site you’ll find a number of low cut shirts (which is the style) that can be modified with layers, and there are also modest pieces.

You’re kidding, right? I mean, not that I’m disagreeing, just that, well, did you really just compare kids to pets?
Posted by Jake | February 25, 2009, 10:48 pmSorry about that– I just got off of a conversation over at Is This Modest with a couple of people that weren’t going to have kids because kids have dirty diapers and get sick and yet they had pets. So, it’s not an equal comparison, and that was supposed to be the point!
