Time For a Vacation?
What is your idea of a vacation?
- Getting away to somewhere exotic?
- Getting someone to watch the kids for a night in a hotel?
- A day trip?
A couple from my church takes an annual trip to the Poconos every Thanksgiving time because it’s the cheapest to go there, and they have a membership.
When my wife and I were married, we rented a cabin in Pigeon Forge, TN, for a week. Sorry to say, now that we have children it’s almost more relaxing to be at home than to even think through packing all the things that we’d need to go somewhere for an extended period of time.
But that doesn’t stop us from dreaming.
I think that it would be nice to take a trip to somewhere that had an ocean-side view—like the outer banks north carolina—and I like the idea of renting a house for the simple fact that you have everything there—plus space. Hotels are cramped, and you spend a lot of time wanting to be somewhere else.
To tell the truth, I don’t like the fact that I need a vacation after my vacation in order to recover. I’d like to spend some part of it relaxing and taking it easy, and I think that having a house where you can stay in (especially in bad weather).
What about you? Have you taken a vacation where you’ve had a house of your own—what did you think?
