Saving Time For Those Who Don’t Like to Iron

I don’t know about you, but ironing can be a pain.  Now, it’s true that I really haven’t had to iron my clothes every day since I was in college.  Back then, you didn’t have the opportunity to grab something right out of the dryer and hang it up.

I was good, though.  I never starched my clothes.  I had a roommate my freshman year that told the story of starching his clothes so much that it caused the shirt to stand on its own.

Starch was like a secret ingredient.

Now you don’t have to worry about ironing you don’t want to.  Today we have things like the Garment Steamer pictured above.  This thing not only irons your clothes, but it also dry cleans them.

No, I’m not kidding.

The way this gadget works is by using steam to infuse your clothes, and plump up the fabric instead of flattening it.  As the fabric plumps, it also causes it to be smooth, and helps to release some of the odor that’s in the fabric.

Irons can be a big pain—waiting for them to warm, making sure the kids don’t bump into them, and then making sure you turn them off or that they don’t fall on your clothes.

By being able to have your clothes hang while you clean/flatten them and by not flattening, but actually “plumping” the fabric, I would think that you would also get a longer lifespan on your clothing.

@MamaArcher: How can I receive something I don’t have possession of and I have to come get? :)

Thank you so much for thinking of me– or at least of my commenting ability– and I hope you take the post announcing the reward in the same funny spirit. I am appreciative.

@Lois Lane II: I always laugh when they won’t tell you the specific price– it’s 4 payments of X, which they reduced from 5 to make it look good.

Perhaps that’s what I should do here– offer a $20 ebook that I mark down to $10 and see if anyone would buy. Well, considering my writing ability, I should offer a $20 for $1 and perhaps someone might buy. :)

@Rachel: These work well? I’m glad to hear from someone that has one.

And my cold is still fighting me, but it didn’t get in the way. Thanks for praying. They asked me back in 2 weeks.
