Finding Help Online

The neat thing about the Internet is that there are many sites to help you out.  Just when you think that you have to “go-it-alone” there’s someone out there that has done it before and that can help.

I’m constantly relying on the Internet to figure out how to do something, how to fix problems, or how to write code for my day job.

And I provide help too.  Whether it’s trying to figure out why a blog won’t upload photos, fixing blog themes, or even helping with church sites, I’m glad to be of assistance.

I’m even helpful in trying to find a web host (as some of my previous posts have told you!).

The point is, that it’s a good idea when you wonder how you’re going to do something to check online.  You never know what someone has gone through before you, and how they got through it.  You may even find that you may be able to write about your experience and help others.

That’s how I view people who write recipe posts, or lists, etc.  Some of the best blog content is content that helps others, that looks beyond “what I did today” and looks toward how we can touch other people.

    Yes…this post was written for me, wasn’t it? ;) I don’t know what I’d do without you! Thanks for suggesting that I upgrade my Firefox! That did it! I’d started to download the latest version a month or so ago…right after you suggested it, and then had to turn things off before it was completed…then I forgot about it, or figured upon reminders that I didn’t have the time to let it download (remember we’re on dial-up here in the boondocks!). Anyway, I let it stay online last night and today have all my problems fixed! Also, using the browser uploader was the key to fixing my photo problem! That will save me a TON of time…not having to upload to Flickr first!

    THANKS again, MIn! And rest assured, that I *do* try to search out things online before bothering you, but so often I can only wade through so many forums, etc. So I usually give it up as not worth the time. This time though, I was about to give up blogging for all the hassle. To think it was only a need to upgrade my Firefox! (I need an eyeroll icon here…)

    @Mary: Not intentionally, Mary. :)

    I’m glad to hear that upgrading your browser fixed your problem. There are so many new revisions out there– it really is hard to keep up!
