Oh the Weather Outside is…
I am sweating. Seriously, the thermostat says that it is 80 degrees Fahrenheit and I’m sweating. So it seems a bit odd to already be starting to think about Christmas, but I’ve been saving for it since practically the beginning of the year.
The Lord has truly blessed this year, and it’s just about time for us to start thinking about what we will be getting those we love this year.
It’s also about the time that a few members of my family start to write their yearly letters to be send out in Christmas Cards– some of which I’ve typed out for them in years passed.
It’s a neat activity to sit and look at photos from the years gone by. To look at the activities you’ve done, and reflect on the blessings and the hard times of the year.
With many websites out there geared toward helping you become a better photographer and writer, one year I even burnt a DVD of pictures, video and music to remember the year.
What will you do this year for friends and family?

Hee…80 degrees and you’re sweating? That’s a cool down for us. On Monday it got to 108 in the shade, 111 in the heat…thankfully we got rain last night and a cool front. I think it’s 82 out there right now…it was 69 when I went to let the chickens out in their coop…blissfully COLD! I hope it sticks around a while…
It’s beginning to look a lot like fall time!
I’m glad you’ve had a blessed year financially! It’s a good time to start thinking about Christmas gifts…I’ve been thinking about three care packages I’ve been dreadfully remiss about sending…and before I know it it will be time to put together a few more for the holidays! Yikes! I need to get cracking! Just when I think I get over one busy thing, several more line up. Most of them I get myself into though.

@Mary: Heat must be relative. Remind me not to visit you in August!
We’ve just started wondering if it’s time to hit the yard sales for kids toys. There are so many electronic gizmos that I could want (I know, hard to imagine, right?), but getting that together is also something coming up.

Speaking of electronic gizmos, my youngest won the grand prize of a Leapster at the library’s summer reading program! She loves the thing…
And my 8 year old received an MP3 player for her birthday…I’m wading through trying to rip music off a CD and synchronizing it to her player…I wish you were here right now!

@Mary: Actually, ripping CDs isn’t that bad. Once she finds out that for $1 she can download music off the Internet– that’s when it will get interesting.
Me, I’m thinking either a wireless enabled PDA, a UPS backup, or a Home Server. ‘Course that’ll mean more blogging.
