Do You Need a Virtual Assistant?
There aren’t enough hours in the day. Seriously—if you were to spend the amount of time that it would take to actually get everything you’re supposed to get done accomplished for your blog or small business there’d be no time left for the things that you really want to be doing—like spending time for your family.
Believe me, I know. I’m currently trying to keep four blogs afloat, create designs for church websites, and hope to make a little money on the side to help pay for it all and for family expenses.
Fortunately, I’ve had a lot of help—from contributors on Weekend Kindness, to stories that I’ve written many years ago for my fiction site to posts from Jazz Raspberry on VeggieTales Review. Jazz is the latest– and I’ve joking called her my virtual assistant.
Perhaps you haven’t heard of the term Virtual Assistant? A Virtual Assistant is like a Administrative Assistant with one big difference, they aren’t at your physical location. They can still be used for managing e-mails, taking phone calls, organizing your day, etc., but the beauty is that they do it all from a distance and over the Internet.
For people that have busy schedules with many meetings, Virtual Assistants are a godsend. And then there’s the whole concept of a Virtual Office—a place where you can go to meet—basically renting out office space—so that you can always present a good image.
This is terrific for the home business, in that you don’t have to hold meetings in your home! You can have a professional office space available (though you’ll have to live or drive to the location!) for you to hold your meetings.
And there’s also a live receptionist feature. This is something that I thought I’d need right away as I got involved developing websites for churches. The service allows for a live receptionist to answer the phone, direct calls, get voice mails, e-mails, and faxes. Let’s just say that within the first few months of starting my own business I had a lot of calls looking for my business at my home phone. That didn’t project a very professional tone, and it annoyed my wife!
So, if you’ve found that you have more things to do than you have time, take a look at the Virtual Office and Virtual Assistants. You’ll be glad that you did.

Great article, as we move forward and become busier and busier, we will all have to eventually look to virtual solutions.

Just like a Virtual Office, Virtual Assistants are becoming increasingly popular and in high demand.
It is definitely a strategic alternative to downsizing and I think more SME’s could benefit from the use of them.
