Set a Day Aside to Pray For Your Kids

wedding collection

Hopefully you’re a parent that’s praying for your child every day.  Why?  Because there are many things that happen in a child’s life daily, and they need prayer.

But more importantly, we need to

4. Set a day aside to pray for your kids.

This prayer should accomplish many things.  The first is that it should be a prayer that they will come to the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

That is the single most important thing we can pray for, followed up by asking God to draw our children to Him.  We will not always be there—as much as we would like to think that we can.  Our children will grow up and leave (Lord willing).  It is our job to prepare them the best that we can for the world that they will find themselves in.

It is also important that we pray for the big decisions in their life yet to come.  I don’t think we’ll ever get to the point where we think, “Man, I prayed way too much for that wife for my son.  I think I could have done with a little less prayer!”

Pray for their studies, for whether they go to college and which one, for their future mate, for their desire for God, and for what God has planned for them.

Doing this will both help them and strengthen your faith in God.
