SocialSpark: PayPerPost with Friends!
Many of you have probably heard of PayPerPost, but have you heard of the new service from IZEA called SocialSpark?
The main difference between SocialSpark and PayPerPost is that there is a social network surrounding SocialSpark that is only on the forums of PPP.
So, that means that you have a profile, that you can make friends, establish links to other people, send them messages, and the line between advertiser and post writer are more blurred.
This is my profile, and, as you can see, there have already been some views and I’ve already been networking.
So far, the hardest thing I’ve found on this new system is understanding just what’s going on. There was this one opportunity (opp in PPP speak) for advertising a new show on USA—it was a clever opp where you put an image of this girl that was supposed to be hiding “in plain sight” on the show and then on your page. Great idea, I thought. I was about ready to figure out how to hide the image on my 125×125 grid when I was told that even though I was qualified for the opp, and it was available I’d have to wait for some invite of some kind.
Nothing ever came—not an invite, not a rejection—nothing!
So, maybe I’ll try again to do an opp over there, but so far the payouts that I’ve seen are less and it’s been frustrating so far to get around the interface.
Don’t get me wrong, the site is gorgeous and it does seem to be laid out well—there’s just some idiosyncrasies that are not intuitive.
So, if you like social networking, and want to add a PPP flavor to it, please be sure to check it out. And if you do, make sure to friend me!
