Does He Even Have a Chance?

I’m beginning to wonder if Barak Obama even has a chance of winning the election in the fall.

And I’m not saying this because of the possibility of a Michelle Obama “whitey” video or Hillary not closing down her campaign so their might be a ruckus in the fall.

I’m saying this because of a number of things:

  1. When it comes down to it, he is one of the most liberal senators in the U.S. Senate.  This has been masked because the typical Democratic primary season is spent proving how you are liberal.  Also, since he’s only been “at work” 143 days with no bills attached to his name, it’s taken some time to go back to Illinois to see what he’s actually supported.
  2. He took advantage of the delegate system of the Democrats (partial delegates awarded to the loser) to win.  Though there is a parallel with the electoral college, the differences are much bigger.  He has to all out win in most states in the fall to get any electors.
  3. Those that he’s chosen to associate with, over a great period of time, have radical views.  Some of them make those that supporters Ron Paul that were on the lunatic fringe look sane.
  4. Though McCain will be hesitant to attack Obama because of his race, it’s a different ball game when you’re face to face with a guy versus when it’s a girl.
  5. The man has more Bush-isms than Bush—and eventually the media will pick up on it.

I think it’ll be an entirely different “ball-game” after the conventions, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a blowout.
