		<description>@Amy Brigham: I believe that the Libertarians were hoping that Ron Paul would be the Libertarian candidate, but he told everyone that he's staying in the Republican party-- I believe that he's trying to secure a speaking opportunity at the convention.

It's funny to read the early history of our country and see that the House and Senate were practically expected to pick the President, and electors were supposed to express their conscience more.  Then again, there also wasn't direct election of Senators either, and I'm sure the House turned over more than this gerrymandered mess we have now.

I'm afraid I have no good road-map to solve it all!</description>

Oh, and I had no idea Bob Barr was running on the libertarian ticket. He served as the Rep for my area of Georgia and my Dad is a huge fan of his. :o)
