I have a real problem with labor being referred to as animalistic and primitive. In my opinion, a woman in labor is a beautiful, holy, and miraculous thing. They interviewed a man named Michael who said, <em>"I kept thinking she was just like any other birthing animal, and there was something hugely disturbing seeing her reduced to that."</em> (Emphasis mine.) If you're uncomfortable in the delivery room, I see no problem with you stepping out. Don't get me wrong. I was present at the birth of all of my children and I didn't experience what they say these men did. I would imagine, however, that there's a big difference between seeing a baby come out of the birth canal and having sexual problems after that and knowing that the girl you impregnated terminated their pregnancy. And the former can be cured by not being present if that's going to bother you. What's the solution for the latter? @Loc: Interesting article.
