Fence Posts

Lined Notebook Header

As some of you are aware, Monday was my birthday and I planned to take the day off and enjoy my family.  My brother and his wife were in town for their vacation, and he decided that he’d like to help me tackle a project that my wife and I wanted to do for over 3 years– put up a fence in our small back yard to help my wife watch our kids when they go outside.

So, instead of spending some time writing posts over the weekend, I found myself working on posts– holes for them, panels and gates to attach to them, and driving around to get them.  Let’s just say that I should have been blogging the whole adventure, and I won’t bore you with the details.

What this does mean in terms of my online presence (and I thank you for your kind words and encouragement) is that nothing got written by me for any of my blogs since last Friday.  It’s been quite some time since I built up a reserve of posts, and this certainly didn’t help matters.

So, until I can get back to a writing schedule, I’m implementing “Short Bursts” on this site.  Simply put, I’m still reading a lot of things that you might find interesting, and so instead of writing a long post, I’ll write a short post about something that I think is worth thinking or talking about (maybe I’ll get rid of some things that have been on my plate for a long time in the process!)

As I get the opportunity, I’ll go back to doing longer posts, but let’s see what happens with the shorter ones, shall we?

  1. Michelle, how often are you tired?! 🙂 If you’re like my wife and I, I’m sure it’s most of the time. I believe it was Dr. Jim Berg that said that the world is run by tired people. In any case, I used to do shorter posts with links and questions, and maybe it’s time to experiment more with that format, and I’m glad it works for you.

Mary, well, we had a two-man auger to do most of the work, except for the rocks, and now it’s done, though I’m sure a professional could do better. Thanks for the welcome back.
