They can point back to the prayer and say "that's all I need to do." Personally, I was never with anyone who shared the gospel with me, never prayed any prayer, I was just looking for Truth (in the right place) and when I got it, I was different. "The change" is important, if we do not change in our salvatoin, it is only a change by mouth, and not a change by faith or in our hearts.
