Chuck Norris Endorses Mike Huckabee

Mike Huckabee I’m not yet sure who I will vote for in this upcoming Presidential Election. I would like to vote for Mike Huckabee, but I have problems with his record in Arkansas– specifically, that he tends to raise taxes and use the government to meddle more in our lives.

Being a conservative, I believe that it’s wrong for government to control our lives whether it’s for issues I agree with or disagree with. Perhaps that makes me more of a libertarian, I’m not sure. But I believe that we’d all be a whole lot better of with less government in our lives instead of more.

However, this ad is terrific– positive, witty, and leaves you a good impression. Plus, it has Chuck Norris is in it, so you know it has to be good:

  1. You would probably be interested in this post from a blogger who lives in AR and is familiar with Huckaby. It discusses at least one of the points you made in a little more detail.

I don’t know what to think about this election cycle. I’m not too impressed with any of the top level candidates.

I’m afraid if someone doesn’t create some excitement the whole election will be about voting for or against Hillary and I’m afraid that will lead to another record low turnout.

  2. Interesting post, Ad Tracker. I’ve heard things both about his fiscal discipline as well as going overboard on social conservatism. One of the big things that those that are for Ron Paul state is that Paul is convinced that the government should get out of meddling in our lives as a guiding principle, whereas Huckabee would use government to meddle in ways social conservatives would like. So, if your principle is less government involvement you would look at Huckabee as the right’s version of Hillary.

He seems like a great guy, and he’s definitely gifted verbally. It will be interesting to see what happens in Iowa. Whereas I would have trouble voting for Guiliani, I don’t know that I’d have the similar problem voting for Huckabee. But, is there a candidate that agrees with me in all areas? Not that I can see.

  3. As I’ve discussed with you a bit, I’ve had an anti-voting stance for quite some time now. I never thought I would find a candidate worth voting for. But then someone told me about Ron Paul, and I’m now seriously considering registering as a Republican to vote in the primaries. If you’re looking for the perfect conservative, maybe you too should consider Ron Paul.
