How to Find a Good Hosting Service

Laptop 3 One of the most difficult tasks for people wanting to take their website to the next level (and by that I mean off of free sites and onto places where they can have more control of their site) is trying to choose the right hosting provider.

If you’ve done any bit of looking around you’ve found that each provider has a mixture of numbers to try to throw at you to impress you.  Bandwidth, storage space, transfer amount, mysql, php, mssql, ASP, ASP.NET, email…  The list keeps right on going.

How are you going to decided what hosting company to go with?

Well, one method would be to find someone that is doing what you want to do and ask them– chances are that if someone is currently using a specific provider they will have some sort of feedback about the service they have experienced and may even be able to tell you who to avoid!

Another avenue is to use something like top web hosting to find the best web hosting plans.  This site actually has hosting reviews showing you the different offerings that companies have.  This way you don’t have to go to many different web hosting providers and find their quote pages and create a detailed spreadsheet– you can do it all in one place.

In either case, do some research, and make sure you’re getting the best deal for your dollars.
