Kansas Abortionist Under Fire

Dr. George Tiller Have you heard what’s going on in Kansas with Dr. George Tiller?  He’s the infamous abortion doctor from the state, but what is currently going on there should have pro-choice people wishing to run from him and Planned Parenthood like the plague.

Johnson County District Attorney Phill Kline charged the Overland Park, Kan., [Planned Parenthood] clinic with 107 counts, 23 of them felonies. Besides 29 misdemeanor counts of providing unlawful late-term abortions, the clinic is charged with multiple counts of making a false writing, failure to maintain records and failure to determine viability.

What’s happening here is that Planned Parenthood has been awfully sloppy with its books and the state of Kansas allows the people of Kansas to petition for a grand jury.  With all of these misdemeanors and counts against Planned Parenthood and Dr. Tiller, a judge recently said that they can have their grand jury.

You see, besides the media, one of the things that’s been shielding Planned Parenthood is the whole notion of privacy.  They don’t want parents involved in children’s abortion decisions.  They don’t want governments to know exact figures of abortions.  They want to keep everything as secret as they can.

They say that it’s to protect the young moms who want their babies killed, but in this case, it’s lead to all kinds of practices that are despicable.

First, the privacy that they trumpet protects child rapists.  That’s the cover that King Middle School is seeking to explain why it didn’t report instances of reported child rape and sought to have condoms provided to middle schoolers.  Since it’s rape in that state to have sex with someone below the age of 14, and the justification for this new program was that people of that age were claiming that they had sex, there was illegal activity– that was hidden in the name of privacy.

We’ve covered before how children’s medical records are not able to be seen by parents, and this is the exact cloak of invisibility or invincibility that Planned Parenthood has worn from day one so that they can not be regulated or scrutinized.

So, what’s happening now?  People in Kansas and other states are signing a petition going to Congress to ask them not to send the $300 million that it has budgeted to go to Planned Parenthood until the grand jury has reached its decision.  Basically, if a corporation is guilty of fraud and other law violations it needs to be shut down and its board members prosecuted.  That’s the least of what we’d want if we were talking about Enron, right?

  1. Excellent closing sentence, MIn.

Amazing that KS is one of the only states in the union to allow these partial-birth abortions, isn’t it? KS, by rights, should be grass roots and family friendly…right there in the heart of America. Hopefully this George Tiller sees justice done, and what a hero DA Phill Kline is for pursuing this case. I’d imagine it’s not a walk in the park for him and his family.

  2. The Kansas Supreme Court today stopped the seating of the grand jury on the grounds that the case was ‘unique.’ Literally, that’s what they said…it was ‘unique.’ So how can Tiller continue to operate in a state that is, as Mary said, family friendly? Well, you give over $200,000 in contributions to the governor, who appoints the justices, and you pump over $1.5 million into the campaign for Attorney General to defeat Phill Kline. And you create a PAC called ProKanDo so you can funnel even more money into Kansas politics and begin buying off state legislators and senators. And once that’s accomplished, you buy off the media as well so the citizens have no idea what is happening.

I think what gets me the most is the Court stopping the seating of an investigative body without any statute or previous case to back them up. Incredible. Only in Kansas.
