Congratulations Tiger

It’s nice to see some celebrities get things in the right order.  In a time and place where a lot of people are choosing to cohabitate, then birth and adopt children, and then get married, it’s nice to see when someone does things the way that God intended– at least publicly.

“Obviously, we couldn’t be happier and our families are thrilled,” Woods said on his Web site. “I have always wanted to be a dad. I just wish my father could be around to share the experience.”

Woods and Elin Nordegren of Sweden married in October 2004, and Woods has said that he wanted children sooner instead of later. He did not say when in the summer the baby is due, although it likely would be between the U.S. Open and British Open.

It’s great to see someone prioritize family life, even when they are a big name.  It’s important whether you are the World’s No. 1 ranked golfer, or a guy who used to be deacon at his church that takes time out of their busy lives to do that which is most important.

So, thanks for the good example, Tiger, and here’s hoping that everything goes well with your wife and the baby– it’s a whole different lifestyle!

Off topic, but our eldest daughter is called Elin. It turns out that it is a popular name in Norway (and also Sweden apparently) as well as in Wales.
