		<description>Indeed a little bit of history should make the issue quite clear. The fourth Earl of Sandwich would ask his his valet to bring him a slice of meat tucked between two pieces of bread. Thus the sandwich was born. 

The question is whether a sandwich must contain meat or not.

One thing is for sure - peanut butter with jam (what you call jelly) is such a terrible combination that we can be quite sure that the good earl would have eschewed it! :)</description>
