		<description>&lt;blockquote&gt;The point is that we have gotten to a stage in our society that we are so worried about quality and not hurting the person's self-image that we have the selfish people ruling the day. There has been a movement to erase the difference between teens and adults in an effort to try to make the teens feel that they can talk to the adults, or that they are the same.&lt;/blockquote&gt;
Sounds like my on-going issue with tolerance vs love...
I am a teacher in Sweden. Believe me, the problems of respect here are far more serious than the one you describe. I wish I only had such problems.
Students here are allowed to do anyhing, and the school has become an entertainment company looking for happy customers. Teachers are supposed to accomodate for every decent and undecent need whenever it comes up. The newest school law specifically states that a teacher shall not do anything 'uncomfortable' to a student (a teacher shall not violate a student, shall not hurt his feelings). One may put just anything into this definition.
The society is godless. The morality is humanistic. The ideals are those of tolerance, not love.
Really, can we expect anything else?
