<description>I just wanted to put my thoughts into the mixing bowl.

I have seen Dr. Hovind's DVD collection and feel that he is doing exactly what he claims. He is on a mission! I would say, without a doubt, that the people that decided to work for Dr. Hovind's ministry knew this and were willing to help with the mission of teaching creation. I really don't think that he should be in trouble with the IRS when you take in the fact (or really the common sense) that he and all of his workers decided to do what they are doing for God. Dr. Hovind even suggests that you copy his DVD set and give it out for free.

This probably all came about from an ex-worker, if I might guess, that didn't like Kent for some reason.

I'd like to know more about the definition of "compensation" that the workers were getting. If it's like I imagine, they probably didn't get a huge paycheck and probably didn't expect one. If it were me, and I was in a position to work for such a missionary establishment, I wouldn't expect a large salary, pension, and benefits. It's a mission!

That's just my perspective on the situation. I know nothing about the laws pertaining to religious tax liabilities and "employee" or "worker" obligations.

I have never met Dr. Hovind and I have no affiliation or connection to him. I just think he's getting undue criticism for which I have no explanation.

Thanks for the opportunity to reply!
